hey queen! i found your site just surfing through neocities and first off, i lovelovelove your site name!!! so cute + i read your most recent journal entry and i never thought out work that way. as in, you said you'd rather work a boring job and have fun on the side + keeping your hobbies unmonetized. tbh, i love that. i hate it when ppl tell me to monetize my hobbies because it SUCKS the fun out of it!!! also can't wait to see your collections page XD added ur button too btw!

thank you so much for visiting!! i'm happy my views on work made you see it in a new light! i agree, when you start monetizing your hobbies everything becomes sooo frustrating, you start thinking of your productions in terms of performance and where is the fun in that?? thank you very much for adding my button <3 and i swear my collections pages will be complete.... one day.....

It's nice to see a new journal entry, and good to hear you are doing well. I think you have a very healthy view about work. If the bills are paid, colleagues are nice and your free time is your own then that is a good career. The main thing, I think, is to avoid stress. Unfortunately, I don't have such a relaxed perspective on work myself. If I'm doing work that doesn't feel meaningful to me, I start to feel suffocated. I think this is probably a little dramatic and over the top. Luckily, I have managed to find a job that feels fulfilling to me so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time. I am aware that this is a very neurotic take. I think you also make a great point about not wanting to grow to resent your skills by having to exchange them for money. The word 'amateur' is derived from the word 'amare', which means 'to love', and referred to a person who engages in something merely for the love of it. I am happy to be an amateur!

Unfortunately, my work is far from being devoid from stress, but I try to not let it go to my head. I used to work more than 50 hours a week, trying to fix every issue the company i work in was facing, and I barely had any free time as a result. Not to mention anxiety attacks due to the pressure were a daily occurence. Now I give it my all when I'm at work, but the second I clock out, those problems are not mine anymore. I don't think it's dramatic to want a fulfilling job, actually I think most people are like that!! But it might be some kind of privilege to be able to enjoy such a position. I've come to accept that a lot of people, such as myself, don't experience meaningful attachment to their job, and it's probably some kind of privilege in itself to not have a job that feels like literal exploitation so I try to be grateful for what I have. Oh I never thought about the etymoloy of amateur before, that's interesting!!! I feel very lucky to be able to enjoy my hobbies, I'm happy to be an amateur too!

I misread Kodak Charmera as "Kodak Camera", thank you for the correction! Your latest journal entry hit some familiar notes for me. Particularly the part about the sense of self. The self is a slippery concept in general when you get into it. I've noticed that neurodivergent people tend to feel this more acutely. Maybe that's what's going on. In any case, I hope you feel more like yourself soon (whatever that means for you). P.S, I love the "Have you hugged your wife today?" mug so much. I need this in my life.

Replied on: April 15, 2026 at 5:00:53 PM

The self is indeed a slippery concept... And my mental disorder certainly doesn't help me feeling like a unique entity. It's difficult to remember who you are when you feel like you're changing all the time, perhaps more quickly than other people. Thank you for the kind words!! I'm already feeling better than two weeks ago (my mood cycles are quite quick, for the better and the worse!) Oh I love this mug, I'm happy someone noticed it! My lesbian-wired brain thinks of it as a butch-femme couple haha

Hello! What a beautiful site! I love tortellini rat. <3 I enjoyed your yaoi reviews! I am really intriqued by the Depressed Mangaka one. I think you should stick with Barbarities for at least another volume, the love interest gets more tolerable, and the excellent secondary couple (the slimy scheming little bastard/stoic manservant who wants to assassinate him low key) gets more screentime! And there is more political stuff!

Replied on: April 11, 2026 at 9:01:28 AM

Hi Gaby, thank you for the sweet message!! I love that you took the time to read all my yaoi reviews <3 You should definitely give Depressed Mangaka a try but be aware that it gets quite disturbing... Aaah I quite liked the secondary couple from Barbarities!! I'll give it a second chance then. Thank you again!!

Lovely writing in your latest journal. You are great with language and a joy to read. What camera did your friend get?

Replied on: April 2, 2026 at 7:20:11 PM

your comments are always so kind ♥︎ i'm touched to see that people enjoy my writing. he got the kodak charmera which is a tiny gadget camera doubling as a keychain accessory. it's really gadgety but i just think the pictures taken are lovely, and i like the idea of this really portative camera you can take everywhere without even thinking about it.

neocities is so cool because I keep finding sites of people I feel like I have so much in common with. I also love LPS and the ctdigitalarchive.org buttons collection and stuffed rats and work in a library-adjacent field as an office excel wizard. You also have the one HEALTH x 100 gecs collab on your media log and should listen to more HEALTH uwu. <3 from canada!

neocities is great indeed!! i read your review of the RAT WARS album by HEALTH and i will definitely try to listen to it in the next few days, thanks for the rec. <3 from france!
